About The Author: Satishchandra Ray (1888-1960) was an esteemed educationist, Vaishvavacharya, and author. Ray pursued his higher education at Presidency College, where his exceptional academic performance earned him several prizes, including the Jotishchandra Prize, Girish Memorial Prize, and Sir Andrew Frezer Gold Medal. In 1910, he graduated with honors in philosophy, securing the first position and receiving a postgraduate scholarship and the P. S. Smith Prize. Ray then traveled to England for further studies at London University, obtaining an MA degree in philosophy in 1914. He began researching Indian philosophy under orientalists H. Oldenburg and P.
